Design
In simple terms, we were asked to design a four bedroom dwelling. The challenge was achieving room sizes and amenity space to tie in with local policy and we were fortunate that the plot of land, had this in abundance. Tying in with the local vernacular was achieved by utilising locally sourced stone, slate roof and casement windows with a single glazing bar to add the country feel. The internal layout has a more modern feel, with open plan kitchen/dining, separate living room and a large, welcoming entrance hallway. The upper floor easily accommodates the four bedrooms, with an ensuite to the master bedroom and the three remaining bedrooms.
